Pink Saturday - Neighbors!

We received a package from Florida this week. From our neighbors. Our next door neighbors in Florida. Doesn't matter if we haven't lived there in 6 years. They are still our neighbors.

Our Dallas gated community was stuffy with rear entry garages. People came home, drove in the garage, and that was the end of it. In VT when the leaves are gone, we can see a house, but we never see people. So, Barbara and Ed are still our neighbors, even if they are almost 2000 miles away. We've kept them through two moves.

The package was this mug with my name in PINK!
I just love it. How incredibly thoughtful. Thank you!

Ed and I spent many Friday mornings racing from estate sale to garage sale, one after another, which can only be done with such success in Winter Park. The Pines was my favorite. I don't know, but if this did come from a garage sale, it is even more special to me.

Okay, gotta go finish up some painting on the house here. 'Cuz when we finish our staging, the FOR SALE sign goes up in Vermont. When it sells, we are moving back south where there are neighbors.

(Be sure to visit Beverly at Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for more Pink Saturday posts. You will find the best of PINK!)

Hi Sweet friend, I started with you today and just want to say how sad but true about no one wanting to take the time anymore to know their neighbors. On a good note, now you will have neigbors that care, and care they do, what a thoughtful and wonderful thing to do for you, great post, Happy Pink Saturday, Char (maybe not a neighbor, but a friend indeed)

Nan.....I loved reading about your neighbors. That is just SO nice!! I like your Nancy mug and hope it came from a sale where you all used to go junking!

Good luck with your staging and sale. Home sales are slowing going up and maybe that will be a good thing to both of us!

You want neighbors and I need mountains...Western mountains.

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY!

Hugs,
Jil

Beautiful mug! What lucky neighbors you are to keep in touch through all this time! I still keep in touch with a few of my old neighbors back in AZ!

I'm so glad you still have your wonderful old neighbors to rely on - and how sweet of them to send you that perfect mug. We made a move almost 9 years ago and our neighbors were friend-ly (waving and saying "hi") but so busy with their own lives that nobody were friends. After three years we got out of there and came home to our friends. I wish you all the success in the world selling your house from someone who has been there!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Isn't it ironic how you can live near people for years and never get to know them?

That is so cool! I think it is sad how people don't try to get to know their neibours anymore and really don't get to know anyone in their community. We moved almost a year ago from a small town in VA and I am so sad becasue the store owners Knew me by name!

Thank You for sharing your Pink!
Happy Belated Pink Saturday!

I live in California on a culdesac. We rarely see our neighbors. They drive right in their garage and don't come out until they go to work the next day. I need some neighbors like your friends.
Happy Pink weekend!

Happy Pink Saturday, Nancy! That mug is such a sweet gift from your neighbor. Are you moving back to Florida? Or someplace else in the South? Good luck with everything!

TRES BELLE said...

Well now, Where will you be moving back too????? How in the world did you survive those Vermont winters???? I've had my share of frigid, snowy winters in Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana near Chicago (1 hour to downtown Chicago) but I know for a fact it had to be much, much colder where you were.

Our neighbors down the road were from New Hampshire and they were ready for the warm weather.

I didn't participate in "Pink Saturday" due to getting things ready for an Open House....yep, we are moving too....where??? Maybe Dallas or Houston then again who knows?

Hi Nancy, Come on back to Texas. This area is as neighborly as you can get..but we're sure not gated. That would be too stuffy. Happy belated Pink Saturday and have a lovely week.

That is so nice that you still keep in touch. We moved almost 2 years ago and I still miss my neighbors. Neighbors are more than just people you live next to.. they become real friends that you can depend on and they can depend on you in times of fun and need.

Great mug & Pink to boot!

Nancy, my best friend in grad school was a Nancy and she was a giggler. Are you? Our house situation is such that we have only 1 real neighbor and streets with trees where folks look out and see one another, visit easily, are so inviting.
I love your mug and the color is perfect.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

Ben and Barbara sound like wonderful friends -- I suppose a cup of tea in your pretty pink mug will be (almost) like having them to tea as well!

We're aching for spring in Michigan, too! Thanks for visiting The Marmelade Gypsy and belated Pink Saturday greetings!
