Felt Flowers – Brooch or Pillow Project

048-flowerpillows2

Sweet, huh? Amy found these first. Click on the pic above to get to printable directions.

If I can locate my felt, I’ll be making these today. I do know where the organza style fabric is located. Special note that the designer’s did NOT tell you on the organza flowers, it must be a polyester fabric since you melt the edges to get the curl and the finish. Silk, cotton and wool burn.

I’m obsessed with Leonard Cohen, kd lang and Jeff Buckley since the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. You would have smashed my speakers by now because I have been blasting Hallelujah the entire week. I’m not sure if I like this version or the one my husband says is the best by Jeff Buckley found on my playlist.

Warning: If you are an addictive personality, this Samson and Delilah inspired lyric may drive those around you nuts on the 100th play.

k.d. lang or Jeff Buckley? (right, on to those brooch creations!)

Hope you saw Lindsay Vonn and Shaun White win their gold medals! Woo HOO! Great runs both of them. Now when is that cutey Apollo Ohno skating again?

Hi Nancy!

I am loving these pillows......I ADORE working with felted wool, so I'll probably have to do one of these....someday.....when I get a moment. I've seen something like this on someone's blog too....

Huggies,
Spencer

I have been obsessed with Leonard Cohen for more decades than I care to admit. Have you seen his recent performance in London? Amazing!

I love kd lang, too. My favorite Cohen interpretations are by Jennifer Warnes but other ladies sing his songs well: Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, YES! This Hallelujah version is REALLY GREAT!

Thanks for the heads up on the pillows. A must do!

(I hope I can get this kd lang version out of my head!)

Aaaaaaah! (scream of delight) I love the cushions - and a downloadable pattern AND a video? My cup runneth over. These are so fashionable right now in the UK, and at £20 - £60 average for something like this (which I think works out something like $35 - $75) there's no way I'm buying these from a shop! Thank you so much for the link.

RE kd lang - what a voice. But the shock (to me) was a picture of her wearing a skirt! I thought she didn't do skirts...

Hi Nancy

Love the flowers! But, I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't seen one minute of the Olympics - we've been sooo busy and I need to keep up with my favorite blogs, don't cha know!
